Collections in Plone are the most powerful tool content editors and site managers have to construct navigation and site sections. This is a brand new implementation of collections for Plone, using ajax/javascript to make a simpler, easier and streamlined user experience for using collections. Plone is governed by the Plone Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was formed in May 2004 to serve as a supporting organization for the CMS and its community. The Foundation provides support for development and marketing, and is modeled after similar ventures such as the Apache Software Foundation. A set of tools managed by Sustainable Software for identity and membership management within organisations, built on Zope and Plone. Linux/BSD/Unix users: Use the Unified Installer. It is a configuration and setup kit with build scripts.

Windows 10 users: use the Unified Installer. See Windows-specific installation instructions. (Not currently working. Watch for Windows 10 support in a bug-fix release.)

OS X users: use the Vagrant kit or install XCode command-line tools and use the Unified Installer.

Automated provisioning: See Plone's Ansible Playbook for a full-stack installation kit.
