NBA Elite is an embarrasment to the NBA license and to the consumer. I wouldn't recommend buying this game or even renting it. NBA Elite 11 canceled Following delay, EA confirms that it has officially benched its annual basketball sim for the 2010-2011 season; future development handed to Tiburon. EA's Canadian studios hit. NBA Elite 11’s creative director had been a producer on the NHL series, which had seen success with a control philosophy that placed the player’s skates on the left stick and hands on the right.

It’s also for bid with a starting price of $6,500 but i’m sure there’s a reserve and my guess is it’s at least $8,000. Another installment of EA's long-running basketball series returns. NBA ELITE 11 includes all new gameplay featuring Hands-On Control, giving unprecedented control with 1 to 1 movement and all-new Real Physics. All-new features include the Become Legendary – Be A Pro mode, online EA SPORTS Basketball Association, ESPN broadcast package including new commentary from Mike Breen, Mark Jackson.

NBA Elite 11 is a mobile basketball video game released by Electronic Arts (EA) for iOS, and PS3.[2][3] It is the seventeenth installment in EA's NBA Live series and the only to bear the NBA Elite name. It features Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder on the cover.
A release of the game for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 was scheduled for October 5, 2010. [4] Previously, a download code for NBA Jam was to be included with copies of Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of NBA Elite 11, but NBA Jam was subsequently released as a standalone game for both systems and the Wii.[5]
Features[edit]
Controls were retooled to primarily use the right analog stick for actions such as shooting. New animations were also added.
The right analog stick actions added difficulty, with simple moves like layups being difficult, and three-point shots being easier to do. But, the dribbling move and shooting combos feel more controlled by the user, and is another level of immersion yet to be felt since.
NBA Live 10 commentators Marv Albert and Steve Kerr were replaced by the ESPN crew of Mark Jackson, Jeff Van Gundy, and Mike Breen.[6]
The game was to feature the debut of 'Become Legendary Mode', a single-player career mode similar to 'Be a Pro Mode' inNHL and FIFA and 'Superstar Mode' in the Madden games.[7]
The iOS version features a 3-point shootout mode, season mode, playoff mode, and play mode.
The game's soundtrack was produced by 9th Wonder and rapper J. Cole and was going to include the song 'The Plan.'[8][9]
Development and cancellation for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3[edit]
The developers of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions aimed to completely change the game's control system, but were pressed for time with an eighteen-month development cycle. A demo was released while the game was being finalized. The demo was plagued with glitches that were much publicized, including one involving a player, most famously Andrew Bynum in a YouTube video, stuck in the middle of the court in the model's bind pose.[10] Another glitch that was noticed in NBA Elite 11 involved Chicago BullsLuol Deng. Deng had a 'hotspot' from the left baseline where he almost never missed from. Developers were aware of an animation bug, but intended to fix it before release. After internal review of the game, EA found the product to be unsatisfactory and cancelled the game.[11]
Some copies of the PlayStation 3 version of the game have made it into circulation and are considered rare collector's items.[12]

NBA Elite 11 was to be the 2010 and first installment in the NBA Elite series (formerly NBA Live), developed and published by Electronic Arts. It featured current Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant on its cover and had a release date of October 5, 2010.[1]
On November 2, 2010, the game was cancelled.[2]
Features[edit | edit source]
In NBA Elite 11, the controls have been completely revamped. There is now a right stick-centric control scheme. The animations have been changed from what they were in past games. The dribble moves have been changed so there are new and more animations than there have been in past games. Shooting the ball involves more skills than in the past, because the right stick is now used instead of a button. Some are comparing this to NBA 2K.
Commentary[edit | edit source]
In this year of NBA Elite 11, a new Commentary team will take the place of Marv Albert and Steve Kerr. The ESPN crew of Mark Jackson, Jeff Van Gundy, and Mike Breen will be in the Booth in this year of Elite.[3]
Become Legendary Mode[edit | edit source]
On August 9, 2010, EA Sports unveiled Become Legendary Mode. It is a singleplayer career mode similar to EA Sports' NHL and FIFA Be a Pro Mode, and Madden's Superstar Mode. This is the first time a mode like this has been in an EA Sports basketball game.[4]
Bonus NBA Jam Game[edit | edit source]
On August 3, 2010, EA announced that NBA Jam, which was originally announced to only be for the Nintendo Wii, would be released on NBA Elite 11 as a one-time code for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. There are three modes that can be played using the code: Play Now, Classic Campaign, and Online.[5]
Development and cancellation[edit | edit source]
The developers of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions aimed to completely change the game's control system, but were pressed for time with an eighteen month development cycle. A demo was released while the game was being finalized. The demo was plagued with glitches that were much publicized, including one involving a player freezing in the middle of the court, stuck in a T-pose (also called the crucifixion pose). Developers were aware of an animation bug, but intended to fix it before release. After internal review of the game, EA found the product to be unsatisfactory and canceled the game.[6][7]
However, some copies, especially for the PS3, made it into circulation.
Criticisms[edit | edit source]
The iOS version is criticized for all the rookies having the same generic look. most players are depicted as bald, regardless of how much hair they may have. In Season Mode, which runs the same schedule as the NBA, all the home and road games are reversed. (The Nets opened the actual season at home against the Pistons, but in the game, they open in Detroit)
